About Me

- My name is Julie aka "juliejewl" and I'm a self-taught mixed media artist. I have a B.A in music and did graduate studies in music history. I'm a classically trained flutist, which has absolutely nothing to do with my current work as an artist! Sometimes I wish I went to art school, but I'd like to think being entirely self-taught has helped me to be more free and original in my work. :) I have been dabbling in painting and drawing since high school. However, I have only begun to create mixed media art with a vengeance over the past year. I live in Springfield, Massachusetts with a roommate and my pet rabbit, Bunny Vindaloo. I call him Vinnie for short. I work out of a studio in my bedroom.
